Frequently Asked Questions

The cost of stop motion will change depending on many variables, such as the style used, how many puppets will need to be built, and the detail needed in sets. We’re happy to schedule a meeting to discuss how we can work around your budget and project. For an approximate estimate, contact us at [email protected].

Stop motion is a very long process from the building stage to the edit. The time a production takes varies according to quality, the length of film, and the budget. For example, during the animation stage, on average one second of footage will take approximately one hour to film.

At Duck Called Dog we specialise in stop motion, but we also have experience with 2D animation, which can be available upon request.

Unlike 2D and 3D animation, stop motion involves creating everything in real life (puppets, sets, lighting), and photographing frames with small incremental movements for animation. Stop motion comes in many different styles, such as traditional puppets, clay figures, paper cut out, fabrics and more. If you are looking for something uniquely eye catching, and beautifully textured, stop motion is the thing for you.

We can offer an array of individual services including but not limited to: storyboarding, concept art, puppet building, set building, animation, sculpted maquettes, editing, and so on. Contact [email protected] for more information.
